This Day in History: 0946-08-16

On 16th August 946, Eadred, was crowned King of England by Archbishop Oda at Kingston upon Thames. Eadred was later to receive the submission of the sub-kings of England and the Northumbrian ealdormen at Tanshelf (part of modern-day Pontefract) in 947.
