This Day in History: 1649-11-10

On 10th November 1649, Lieutenant-General Thomas Fairfax, Commander-in-Chief of the New Model Army during the English Civil War, appealed to the Committee of the West Riding of York on behalf of a Mr Stringer for losses occasioned by the ‘Forces’ in the third siege of Pontefract Castle.
