    This Day in History: 1312-05-10

    Scarborough_CastleOn 10th May 1312,  John de Warenne, lord of Sandal Castle,  started to besiege Scarborough Castle along with the Earls of Pembroke, Percy and Clifford. John was normally loyal to the king but Edward II‘s ‘antics’ with Piers Gaveston had proved too much for him.
